Requirements

This customer desired an economical solution for steam generation which conserved fuel. The production process requires highly flexible steam supply with high-quality steam.

Solution

The cascaded CERTUSS steam generator featuring peak-load regulation adjusts to fluctuating steam demand in no time. This reduces fuel consumption considerably without a drop in quality.

Kern winery

At the Kern wine cellar, a multiple system comprised of two JUNIOR-series steam generators is used in the careful production of white wine, red wine and sparkling wine. Thanks to a cascade connection with peak-load regulation, steam is provided extremely efficiently with reduced fuel use.

This family-run winery with a history rich in tradition spanning more than 100 years requires steam output of up to 1,000 kg/h with fluctuating demand.

Steam is required for a variety of different processes:

  • Mash heating
  • Desulfurization
  • Sterilization for bottling
  • Hot water generation

The equipment

A decisive reason for operating CERTUSS steam generators is their slim and compact design, which is ideal for installation in operating areas. Another reason was the fact that installation did not require approval in Germany. Yet another reason is the material durability of the heating elements, even with complex water conditions.
