Requirements
Steam had to be available immediately, including after longer idle periods. Extreme ruggedness was required, as the steam system at the concrete factory is subjected to very high levels of soiling.
Solution
Rapid steam generators from CERTUSS have a short heat-up time. Modulating output adjustment to the respective steam demand saves energy and money. This long-lasting system delivers its full output even under adverse installation conditions.
Heidelberger Beton GmbH, Munich
The HeidelbergCement Group has installed steam generators from CERTUSS at several facilities in Germany. This concrete factory in Oberbrunn, Upper Bavaria produces ready-mixed concrete for building, road and bridge construction, as well as special concretes. Steam is required for hot water production and heating of the aggregates of gravel and sand.
The two steam generators from CERTUSS heat a 4,000-liter hot water conditioner and six steam lances. The tanks of the mixing vehicles are filled with hot water if the concrete does not reach 10°C.
Installation and commissioning were carried out by the CERTUSS installation team. This eliminated the need for an expensive German TÜV inspection. The CERTUSS Universal 500 TC falls in category III of the EU Pressure Equipment Directive. No permit is required for installation and use of this size in Germany.
'The steam system is located directly on the mixer platform at a height of 10 meters. It is subjected to extreme levels of soiling. We chose CERTUSS once again because its systems require little space and are rugged and reliable.'

Equipment of the double system
- 2 CERTUSS UNIVERSAL 500 TC steam generators, oil-heated
- Thermotimat automatic system for fully automatic operation
This double system delivers steam output of 1,000 kg/h. A cascade connection results in especially efficient distribution over basic-load and peak-load times.
